Description

Use this tasty and nutritious plant-based walnut sausage on pasta or pizza.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup California walnuts, soaked for 30 minutes in water

  • 1 tablespoon coconut aminos

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 2 teaspoons fennel seeds

  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

  • ½ teaspoon celery salt

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

PREPARATION

  1. Drain walnuts and place in a food processor; pulse to coarsely chop.

  2. Add coconut aminos, olive oil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika and celery salt. Process to a ground meat texture.

  3. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large nonstick skillet. Add sausage crumble mixture and cook for 3 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
