Description

These sweet and spicy sesame-covered walnuts are a great snack. They also make a yummy topping for fruit or vegetable salads.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups California walnut halves
  • 4 tablespoons real maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Generous pinch cayenne pepper

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. In medium bowl combine all ingredients. Mix until walnuts are evenly coated with maple syrup and seasonings.
  3. Spread walnuts on nonstick baking sheet, or baking sheet coated with nonstick cooking spray.
  4. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until nuts are lightly browned. Allow to cool on baking sheet. (Nuts will become dry and crunchy as they cool.)
