Sticky Banana Walnut Pudding Cake

  • 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour

Toffee Caramel Sauce

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar

PREPARATION

Banana Walnut Cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F. Line an 8 x 8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Set aside.

  3. In a large bowl of electric or hand mixer cream the butter and brown sugar together.

  1. Preheat broiler.

  2. Combine butter, heavy cream, and brown sugar in a small saucepan. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil gently over medium low heat until mixture is thickened (about 8 minutes), continuing to stir constantly.

  3. Spoon about 1/3 cup of the sauce over the walnut pudding cake and spread evenly on top.

  4. Place cake under the broiler until the topping is bubbly, about 1 minute.
