Ingredients

Walnut Infused Bourbon

  • 2 cups bourbon
  • 1 cup chopped California walnuts

Boulivardier

  • 1 oz. Walnut Infused Bourbon
  • 1 oz. sweet vermouth
  • 3/4 oz Campari
  • Ice
  • Orange peel
  • Toasted California walnut halves

Preparation

  1. To prepare infused bourbon, lightly toast walnuts and let cool. Place in a large jar and add bourbon. Let infuse in a cool place for 24 hours. Strain walnuts out through a fine mesh strainer and store bourbon in a sealed jar.*
  2. To prepare cocktail, stir together infused bourbon, vermouth and Campari in a cocktail shaker or glass jar. Add ice and shake or stir. Strain into an old fashioned glass and add a large ice cube. Express orange peel over the top and add to glass. Garnish with a walnut half. *Walnuts may be toasted in the oven with or without a bit of sugar and served over desserts or salads.
