Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup 
  • 1 tsp brown sugar 
  • ½ tbsp coconut oil 
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon 
  • ½ cup California walnuts, roughly chopped 
  • 15 mini phyllo shells 
  • 4 oz goat cheese, divided into small pieces 
  • ½ cup fig spread 

Preparation

  1. Add maple syrup, brown sugar, coconut oil, and cinnamon to a small saucepan over low heat.
  2. Chop walnuts into small pieces and add to pot.
  3. Mix together until all walnuts are well coated.
  4. Spread walnuts evenly on a baking sheet to cool.
  5. While the walnuts are cooling, place phyllo cups on a baking sheet.
  6. Place about 1 tsp goat cheese inside each phyllo cup and bake for 7 minutes.
  7. Add fig spread and maple glazed walnuts to the top of each cup before serving.
