Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups California walnuts
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup dried apricots, diced small
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1 apple, peeled & diced
  • 1 D'Anjou pear, peeled & diced
  • 1 teaspoon sherry vinegar

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Toast the walnuts 10 minutes. Once cool, roughly chop.
  2. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan on high heat combine the white wine, sugar, apricots, and mustard seeds. Reduce to a simmer for 15 minutes. Add the apples and pears and simmer another 10 minutes. Stir in the chopped walnuts and sherry vinegar.
  3. Allow to cool before serving.
