Dr. Wendy Bazilian brings experience in nutrition science, public health and counseling to
her work.

Dr. Bazilian graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University, and received her master’s degree from the University of California, San Diego. She completed her doctoral degree in Public Health and Nutrition from Loma Linda University, graduating summa cum laude and receiving the highest academic honor, the prestigious Chancellor’s Award.

She is a Registered Dietitian and an American College of Sports Medicine–certified Health and Fitness Specialist. She is a consultant to the spa industry and led the nutrition program at the renowned Golden Door fitness resort and spa in Escondido, California for more than a decade. She is co-owner of Bazilian’s Health Clinic in San Diego with her husband, Dr. Jason Bazilian.

Dr. Wendy, as she is affectionately referred to by many, has what has been called an ‘inexhaustible enthusiasm’ for energetic and healthy living that shows in her passion to share this with others. With a philosophy of focusing on the positive for achieving health and life goals, and a belief that small steps yield big rewards, Wendy has worked with thousands of individuals to help them set and achieve (and many times surpass) healthy living goals. Her motto is “Eat Well, Move Daily, Be Healthy”—simple, inviting, non-judgmental and achievable for anyone.

She has been a returning guest on programs including Live with Kelly and Michael and Live with Regis and Kelly, NBC’s TODAY Show, ABC’s Good Morning America Health and ABC’s View from the Bay, Fox Business’ Money for Breakfast, NBC’s Telemundo, Univision and a variety of other local and national programs.

Dr. Bazilian’s advice has been featured in numerous national magazines including Martha Stewart Living, Healing Lifestyles & Spas, Fitness, Town & Country, Natural Health, Spa Magazine, FIRST for Women, Allure, and Women’s Health, among others. As a professional writer on nutrition and exercise, she has published more than 200 articles for corporate and other media.

She is a past recipient of the J. Dun Gifford Food and Nutrition Journalism Award for a story she wrote and appeared in about the history, science and simple approaches we can incorporate at home with the Mediterranean Diet. She has contributed to a number of books including The New York Times best-selling SuperFoodsRx, as well as James Beard and IACP-nominated Golden Door Cooks at Home. She is the author of The SuperFoodsRx Diet: Lose Weight with the Power of SuperNutrients(Rodale).
