The California Walnut Board partnered with the American Heart Association (AHA) to certify ten recipes through AHA’s new Heart-Check Recipe Certification Program to increase consumer awareness about the heart health* benefits of walnuts. The AHA Heart-Check logo is one of the most widely consumer recognized logos. Each of the recipes now bear the AHA Heart-Check Recipe logo and are featured in a recipe collection on walnuts.org. Additionally, a new recipe booklet, featuring six of the recipes, was created for use by health professionals in the retail and clinical settings.

* Supportive but not conclusive research shows that eating 1.5 ounces of walnuts per day, as part of a low saturated fat and low cholesterol diet, and not resulting in increased caloric intake may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.
