Sponsored Webinar, What Comes First: The Food or the Nutrient? now published online by the Journal of Nutrition.

Didn’t get a chance to attend California Walnuts’ Satellite Symposium at the ASN Scientific Sessions Annual Meeting in Boston last spring? No problem! The Journal of Nutrition has now published online What Comes First: The Food or the Nutrient.

The session, held April 19, 2013, focused on the concept of food synergy and the fact that people eat food not nutrients. Research has demonstrated that the concerted action of nutrients and other bioactive substances in fruit, vegetables, whole grains, legumes and tree nuts, such as walnuts, is beneficial for health. This new way of thinking may assist in determining nutrition strategies down the road.
