In partnership with leading UK brand Whitworths, California walnuts implemented a free-standing display unit in 780 Tesco stores for 12 weeks featuring California walnuts on the top 2 shelves in 200g packs. The unit can be found in either the produce area or near the front of store with similar fixtures where consumers shop for the latest promotional items. The promotion has yielded 17MT of incremental walnut sales in the first 4 weeks outselling weekly sales of diet Coca Cola throughout Tesco. The promotion is expected to exceed 50MT of California walnut incremental volume growth after the promotion is completed adding a significant multi-million incremental sales value to Tesco and looks set to become the highest performing fixture featuring walnuts ever implemented by Tesco.
