Dave Ramos, Research Director for the CWB, received well deserved recognition for his efforts to improve production research for the walnut industry.
Dr. David E. Ramos, Pomology Specialist Emeritus, Department of Pomology, at UC Davis, and Research Director for the California Walnut Board, received the Distinguished Service Award at the CWB/CWC Winter Meeting on February 20, 2014 in Napa, CA.
Dr. Ramos has acted as the Research Director for the California walnut industry for the past 18 years. In that time he has taken the extensive knowledge he gained as a Farm Advisor and later as specialist at UC Davis to move the industry forward through guiding production research and establishing a grant for the breeding program. His efforts have addressed key needs within the industry and helped California walnuts enhance our position in the world market through exceptional agricultural practices which provide unrivaled walnut quality.
