1 pound California walnuts
3 teaspoons honey
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons olive oil
2 slices of toasted whole-wheat bread
3 tablespoons Caramelized Walnut Butter
1 banana
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
To make Caramelized Walnut Butter, start by drizzling 3 teaspoons of honey over the walnuts. Sprinkle a 1/2 teaspoon of salt over them and toast the walnuts in a pre-heated oven for 15 minutes at 350℉. Remove from the oven, and let cool.
In a blender or food processor, grind the walnuts for 3-4 minutes until the mixture becomes sticky or paste-like.
Add the oil, a little bit at a time until the walnut butter binds together (about 5-10 minutes).
Toast the bread and spread Caramelized Walnut Butter on each slice.
Mash the banana with a fork, then spread it on the toast and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Serve.
