DESCRIPTION
This simple hot-and-cold fruit dessert seasons sweet pears and crunchy walnuts with cinnamon and spices. Serve this Chef Jamie Lauren recipe with her Cardamom Ice Cream or low-fat frozen yogurt for a lighter alternative.
1 1/2 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt or frozen yogurt (or serve with Chef Jamie’s Cardamom Ice Cream)
1/2 cup chopped, toasted California walnuts
Preparation
To prepare pears, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in spices and cook for 30 seconds or until aromatic.
Add pears and cook for 15 minutes or until tender, stirring frequently. Stir in lemon juice. Serve with nonfat vanilla yogurt or frozen yogurt and top with walnuts.
Warm, bubbly stone fruit is topped with a golden walnut-oat crumble and finished with a velvety homemade walnut cream for the perfect balance of cozy and refreshing.
Golden, caramelized toast layered with homemade berry compote and cloud-like walnut and date whipped cream delivers the perfect balance of warm spice, rich nuttiness, and a naturally sweet flavor in every bite.
Warm, tender apples are cooked down with a touch of sweetness, then topped with a golden walnut crumble. Instead of a traditional cobbler topping, this recipe features a blend of walnuts, sugar, and flour that bakes into a nutty, crisp layer, adding rich texture and cozy flavor to every bite.
