This cocktail is so simple yet feels so elegant. With just 3 ingredients and a simple garnish, you’ll be ready to sit back and sip. Making your own walnut infused bourbon adds an extra toasted touch to set this apart from your average cocktail.
2 cups bourbon
1 cup chopped California walnuts
1 oz. Walnut Infused Bourbon
1 oz. sweet vermouth
3/4 oz Campari
Ice
Orange peel

To prepare infused bourbon, lightly toast walnuts and let cool. Place in a large jar and add bourbon. Let infuse in a cool place for 24 hours. Strain walnuts out through a fine mesh strainer and store bourbon in a sealed jar.*
To prepare cocktail, stir together infused bourbon, vermouth and Campari in a cocktail shaker or glass jar. Add ice and shake or stir. Strain into an old fashioned glass and add a large ice cube. Express orange peel over the top and add to glass. Garnish with a walnut half. *Walnuts may be toasted in the oven with or without a bit of sugar and served over desserts or salads.
