Use this tasty and nutritious plant-based walnut sausage on pasta or pizza.
1 cup California walnuts, soaked for 30 minutes in water
1 tablespoon coconut aminos
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons fennel seeds
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon celery salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
Drain walnuts and place in a food processor; pulse to coarsely chop.
Add coconut aminos, olive oil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika and celery salt. Process to a ground meat texture.
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large nonstick skillet. Add sausage crumble mixture and cook for 3 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
